![]() | Registered users on job boardsRegistered users is another statistic used by job sites to give an indication of their popularity. But what are registered users and why are they important for recruiters? |
A registered user is another technical web statistic and it measures the number of users who have registered to use a website. A person becomes a registered user of a site when they register or set up an account with that site. If you use Gmail, Yahoo mail or Hotmail, you will have registered your details and use them to log in and use your account.
Registered users on jobs boards are similar but, rather than being an email service, the job board account allows registered users to apply to jobs, store CV's, save job searches, track applications and set up email alerts etc.
Clearly, many people go to job boards and browse them but then simply go away again without applying for a job. Registered job seekers, however, tend to show a more active recruitment engagement with the sites and are viewed as valuable for recruiters. Job boards quote registered users to give advertisers a sense of the number of active job seekers using their sites. So, like unique users and visits, and with the proviso that we must compare like with like, registered users can give recruiters an indication of the popularity of a job board.
