We are delighted to announce that 25 sites have have officially been awarded the Whatjobsite Approved Website Award 2010. There are over 1,000 job boards in the United Kingdom but, sadly, too few offer a quality advertising option for employers. The Whatjobsite Approved Website Award is aimed at sorting the job board wheat from the chaff.
The 25 job boards that thus far been approved have all gone through the audit process. The audit is when we check that the job boards meet our approved website criteria. For example, one of the criteria that we require job boards to meet to become approved job boards is that they are in compliance with UK website legislation.
Oddly, although many of the job boards are long-established businesses, and much to our and their surprise, they weren’t in compliance with company law. For example, UK job boards and all web businesses are required by law to have a registered address and full contact information on their website. What’s more, companies selling credit card posting are required to have clear pricing on their sites and full contact information is essential. Many sites didn’t meet this requirement.
Clearly, as we are only inviting quality job boards to participate in the award scheme, they are eager to be in compliance with UK law and most have updated or are in the process of updating their site information in order be compliant and get their approved website award.
We’ve got another 30 job boards that are currently going through the audit process. We’ll keep you updated as to when they get their award. You can see all Whatjobsite Approved Websites here
