Over the last number of years there has been one thing that has been consistent in the world of job boards: the number of job boards continues to rise. While many new job boards are independent start ups, a very great number of the newer sites are part of existing job board networks.
Indeed, some of the larger print publishers like DMGT (owners of Jobsite) and Trinity Mirror (Owners of Workthing) have made a virtue of creating hundreds of sites to integrate with their print empires across the UK. However, that’s not the end of the story. Increasingly job boards themselves are launching new job sites and job boards. These can be efforts to colonise new industry recruitment sectors, to protect themselves from competitors or simply to manage SEO for their brands.
However, what this means is that for the less than experienced online recruiter, it can be difficult to pick one’s way through the thousands of job boards and to find out their relationships and understand how these networks can and should affect your online recruitment decision. With this in mind, therefore, we have published a new introductory guide to job board networks entitled, helpfully enough, “Job Site Networks.”
