How much is a credit card job posting?

So you want to post your job on a job board. You find the job board you want to advertise on. You see, in the top right-hand corner that it provides a handy credit card posting facility. Excellent!

You click on the link and are taken to an advertising page that tells you that advertising couldn’t be easier. Interesting. You can advertise for 28 days. That’s good. You can get discounts if you buy lots of ads. That’s interesting. You can manage your job ads online.  Handy. You can promote your brand. Not interested. You can even search the CV database. That’s good. You can do all these things. All you have to do now to do all these exciting things is create an account.

Looks good, right? Well, maybe not. You will notice the small matter of price. This wham-bam-thank-you-mam recruiter zone hasn’t told you have much the job ad is actually going to cost. Odd eh?

And it gets worse. Some of these job board will require you to enter your information, email address, phone number, address and agree to their terms — before they tell you how much the job ad is going to cost. It’s cart before the course.

Some job board will eventually reveal the price of the credit card once you have created your account.  But that’s not right. You shouldn’t have to create an account to see the price of a job ad.

Worse than that we even found one job board that didn’t actually provide the credit card posting option at all. When we rang up and enquired about it we were told that it was a way for the job board to register interest. Even though they said they provided a credit card job posting. Even though they had those cute credit cards logos  on their site.

Cheeky eh? Or is it just dumb?

We think it’s the latter which is why we require all job boards that are looking for the whatjobsite approved website award to offer clear pricing.
