The whatjobsite partner site FE Careers is finalist in two award categories in the 2009 Online Recruitment Awards. FE Careers is up for the Best Public Sector Recruitment Site Award and Innovative Online Marketing Award.
The award for Best Public Sector Recruitment Site honours the best job boards in the public sector space while the Innovative Online Marketing Award recognises the ingenuity shown by companies in promoting their products or services online.
Gavin O’Meara, CEO of FE Careers comments, “We are really pleased to be finalist in the Online Recruitment Awards. At last the importance of Further Education and the Skills Sector is being recognised.”
Over the last six years the site has gone from strength to strength by focusing on its core area of jobs in the Further Education, Training and Skills Sector. In late February, while many other job sites were seeing job numbers fall, FE Careers had a record number of live jobs live on the site at 3,814.
“With the current recession proving to be much deeper than many originally thought,” says Gavin O’Meara, “the FE and particularly the Skills Sector are being called upon to re-skill and upskill the nation. As a result of this we have seen continual growth in the Further Education, Government funded Training and Skills Sectors and thus continual demand from FE Careers and FE News.”
