CWJobs Quarterly Update Q2 2011

CWJobs LogoFigures compiled by jobadswatch.co.uk, for CWJobs.co.uk, show IT recruitment levels rose again during the second quarter of 2011. This is the eighth consecutive quarter that has seen higher demand for staff; however the rate of improvement is lower than recorded in the first quarter.

The growth continues to be driven by the need for specialised software skills. SQL expertise is the top skill being sought, whereas more traditional skills such as C++ have seen demand drop by 10.7%.

Software houses and outsource consultancies are the biggest recruiters of IT personnel in the UK. During this last quarter they made up over 63% of all permanent jobs advertised. 76.5% of all IT permanent jobs advertised were in the southern and western regions of England.
