How does whatjobsite choose job sites to include?

We want to provide employers with the best job boards for their ads. There are more than 1,200 job boards in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Whatjobsite doesn't include all of them because we don't believe that all of them are good places to advertise your jobs. In choosing what job sites and job boards to include in our database, we have established a number of standard and criteria that a job site must meet before we will include it. Find out more about whatjobsite job board standards.

 

How does whatjobsite rank job sites and job boards in its search results?

A job site is only as good as the job seekers or users that look at it. One job board might have a million people looking at it, but if all those people are secretaries and you are looking for a financial controller then that job site is not much good to you. The relevance of a site is established by estimating the number of job seekers for a particular job.

Each site on whatjobsite is evaluated according to the number of criteria: what job types, industry sectors and locations the site covers and how well it covers them; and how many people actually use the job site (i.e. unique users.) By using these criteria in its calculations, our search engine is able to estimate how many job seekers a job site will have for a particular search and rank them accordingly.

A couple of provisos here. Firstly, whatjobsite does not include every job site in the search database. If a job site does not, can not or will not provide the information we require for our calculations, we can't establish its relevance. Therefore, we do not include it in the search database. Secondly, our ranking of sites is based only an estimates. We want you to find relevant job sites on whatjobsite, but we would always encourage you to talk to these job sites yourself to check their statistics before you advertise your vacancy.

 

How do you know the information on whatjobsite is accurate?

We independently check as much of the information supplied to us by the job boards as we can. Therefore, while we cannot guarantee that the information is 100% accurate, we hope that our results give you enough information to be able to make a better decision when choosing a recruitment web site.

 

Do job sites pay to be on whatjobsite?

No. We want to provide employers with the most relevant job sites for their jobs. Just because a job site doesn’t want to advertise on whatjobsite, doesn’t mean that it isn’t a relevant site for a particular job. So, we include sites free or charge.

While we do not charge for inclusion in our database of job sites, we do allow job sites to promote themselves on whatjobsite using advertising banners, buttons, featured site profiles and keyword sponsorships.

 

Who owns whatjobsite?

Whatjobsite.com is owned by whatjobsite Limited, an entirely independent limited company with its registered offices at 2nd Floor, 145-157 St. John Street, London, EC1V 4PY, and registered at Companies House under 05967315.
